About Toby Gilley
Toby Gilley received his Bachelor’s degree in English from Middle Tennessee State University. He then went on to complete 2 years of graduate work in criminal justice at MTSU and to graduate with a law degree from the University of Tennessee. Toby has enjoyed teaching as an adjunct professor at MTSU and utilizes his skills as a professional mediator. Toby is also very active in community events. In the fall of 2007 Toby ran in Murfreesboro's first ever half marathon. Toby finished the 13.1 mile race in under 2.5 hours.

Toby Gilley currently lives in Murfreesboro, Tennessee with his wife, Laurie, and their two young children, Isabella and Grant. He is a partner in the law firm of Rucker, Rucker, and Gilley, P.C. He was also elected to the city council in 2000, and was re-elected for an additional four-year term in 2004. He is running for re-election for the city council position that he has held for the past eight years. If re-elected, Toby plans to focus on growing and improving schools, roads, safety, and nurturing economic growth in Murfreesboro.
